B-Roll

Adding Clips

Head to the B-Roll tab in the editor or the B-Roll library in the dashboard. You can upload your own video clips or images, or browse the built-in preset library. The preset library is searchable by keyword — search “reaction”, “confetti”, “explosion” and you'll find something usable in seconds.

Clips you upload are stored to your account and reusable across projects. Project-scoped clips are tied to a single project.

Placing Shots

Once you've got clips in your library, place them on the timeline from the B-Roll tab. Set a start time and duration for each shot. Every shot has a layout — choose how much of the frame your B-Roll takes up:

• Full — B-Roll fills the entire frame; main video is hidden
• Split Top — B-Roll sits in the top half, main video in the bottom
• Split Bottom — B-Roll in the bottom half, main video on top
• Banner Top — a shorter strip of B-Roll across the top of frame
• Banner Bottom — a shorter strip across the bottom

You can adjust the crop offset for each clip directly in the editor — drag to reframe the B-Roll within its layout region.

Transitions

B-Roll shots use transitions to enter and exit the frame smoothly. Three options are available for full-frame shots:

• Camera Cut — instant hard cut, no animation
• Slide — B-Roll slides in from the side
• Iris — circular wipe opens and closes around the clip

Banner and split layouts use a fixed slide transition — they always slide in and out along the edge they occupy, which keeps things looking intentional.
